White Done Right

Hello everyone! How many times have you heard someone say “white walls are boring”? As I mentioned in my introduction blog- I’ve been obsessed with interior design since I can remember. Years back I was that person who thought a white backdrop made a room look unfinished or cold. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. When done correctly, a room with a primarily white color palette looks incredible.

I’ll start off with a few kitchens to demonstrate.

All-white kitchens are pretty much my favorite kitchens. As you’ll see in the photos below, it doesn’t take a million accessories or art pieces to make a white kitchen look great either. A few potted plants, a bowl of fruit, or fresh flowers can really top off the space.

You’ll observe 3 main components in the following photos:
Layers of texture: area rugs, cushions, window treatments, and natural elements such as brick and wood…
Plant life: flowers and greenery really pop in a white room.
Art: photos, vases, arrangements of books, etc…
Each of these things help transition a white space from cold and sterile to warm and inviting.
